Research Opportunities

Who Offers Research Opportunities

Foundations, health organizations, government entities and some industry associations and businesses offer financial support for conducting research. Funding can range from $500 to over a million dollars and cover small projects to multi-site, multi-year studies.

If you are new to research you can explore the websites below to better understand the type of research each group sponsors. When seeking funding for a research study it is important to go to the right source for funding. For example, the Alzheimer association would not be interested in funding a childhood obesity study. It needs to be a win-win for both the researcher and the funder.

The funder often has specific criteria that they are looking to fund. The criteria are usually on the website and, in fact, there may even be a specific request for proposal (RFP). The RFP will detail what type of research is being sought. You may be just the person to answer their research question!
