To impact therapeutic inertia and address the stigma’s affecting the treatment and management of obesity and type 2 diabetes, including the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) as part of the core healthcare team is essential. Using an interactive format, the presenters will explore these conditions as chronic diseases and the current evidence and misconceptions for treating obesity and type 2 diabetes. The evolving personalized treatment options (lifestyle, Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT), counseling/education techniques, medications, surgery) and the important position of the RDN will be discussed.
